Pay in Indian rupees

Applies to
Anyone paying with a card issued in India, on individual or team plans
Updated

Jetwriter AI shows its prices in Indian rupees (₹) when your computer's or phone's time zone is set to India (India Standard Time); everywhere else they show in US dollars. To see rupee prices from any device, open jetwriter.ai/pricing?currency=inr. A card issued in India can only be charged in rupees, so if your card is Indian, pay in rupees.

Pay in rupees

  1. Open jetwriter.ai/pricing?currency=inr and sign in. Prices show in ₹.
  2. Under Billing, choose Monthly, or Yearly, which shows how much you save.
  3. Click Upgrade to Elite or Upgrade to Ultra. Stripe's checkout opens, in rupees. Stripe is the company that handles our payments.
  4. Pay with your Indian card. Your bank asks you to confirm the payment, usually with a one-time password (OTP).

For each plan's price in rupees, see Free, Elite and Ultra: what each plan includes.

If you already pay, the pricing page shows your plans in the currency you pay in, and plan changes stay in it. To pay in the other currency instead, cancel your plan, and once it has ended, subscribe again from jetwriter.ai/pricing?currency=inr for rupees or jetwriter.ai/pricing?currency=usd for dollars.

If your Indian card was refused in dollars

Indian banking rules don't allow a card issued in India to be charged in US dollars, so Stripe's checkout refuses it. When this happens as you subscribe, we also email you "[Action Required] Issue with Your Payment for Jetwriter AI" with two ways to pay:

You weren't charged for the refused payment, and your account stays on the Free plan until one of them goes through.

Automatic renewals and your bank's e-mandate

  • When you subscribe with an Indian card, your bank sets up an e-mandate: a standing instruction that lets your renewals be charged automatically, up to the price you first paid.
  • Before each renewal, your bank may send you a notice about the upcoming charge.
  • After a change that raises what you pay, such as a bigger plan, yearly billing or more team members, the first renewal at the new amount needs your approval. Your bank asks you to confirm it, or the payment fails. Once you've paid that renewal yourself, the next ones should be charged automatically again.

To pay a renewal that's waiting for you, go to jetwriter.ai/dashboard, click Update Payment Details in the red banner or Manage Billing, open the unpaid invoice and pay it. See Your payment failed or is past due.

What your bank statement shows

Charges show as JETWRITER.AI, in rupees; older ones may say CHATGPT WRITER, the name Jetwriter AI used to have. A plan change or a new team member is charged for the rest of the current period, so those amounts can differ from the plan's price.
