To sign in to the Jetwriter AI extension (formerly ChatGPT Writer), open the Jetwriter window and click Login at its top right. jetwriter.ai opens in a new tab: sign in there with Continue with Google, or your email and password, and the extension signs in with you. If a tab still shows Login afterwards, reload that tab.
The extension and jetwriter.ai use the same account. If you don't have one yet, click Create Free Account in the Jetwriter window instead.
Sign in from the extension
- On any website, open Jetwriter: click the Jetwriter icon in your browser's toolbar, or press Ctrl+Shift+K (Cmd+Shift+K on a Mac). In Gmail, you can also click AI Reply under an email.
- Click Login (1), at the top right of the window, next to the close button. The jetwriter.ai sign-in page opens in a new tab.

While you're signed out, the Jetwriter window shows Login at the top and a banner to create a free account.
- Create Free Account
- Click Continue with Google, or type your Email and Password and click Login. Use the way you signed up: an account made with Google has no password unless you set one.
- The page says "Login successful". Click Okay and go back to the tab you were on. Jetwriter is signed in there and in your other open tabs.
Each time you sign in on jetwriter.ai in the same browser, the extension signs in too, even if you didn't start from the extension. If you were already signed in on jetwriter.ai before you installed Jetwriter, click Login in the extension once: it signs in without asking for your password.
Create a free account
When you're signed out, the Jetwriter window says "Please create a free account to start generating AI responses." and its send arrow stays off.
- Click Create Free Account in that banner. The sign-up page opens on jetwriter.ai.
- Click Continue with Google, or type your email and a password and click Create Free Account.
The extension signs in as soon as the account is made. You can also sign up on the page that opens right after you install Jetwriter.
Google or email: which to use
- Continue with Google: there's no password to remember, and your email address is confirmed already, so you can start right away.
- Email and password: on the Free plan, you need to verify your email address before Jetwriter writes anything. We send the link as soon as you sign up: see Verify your email address.
Use the same email address each time you sign in: a different address is a different account.
If the extension still says you're signed out
Try these in order:
- Reload the tab. Press F5, or Cmd+R on a Mac, in the tab where Jetwriter still shows Login. Open tabs usually catch up on their own, but not always, especially a tab that was open before you installed Jetwriter.
- Click Login in the Jetwriter window again. If jetwriter.ai already has you signed in, the page signs the extension in right away, without asking for your password.
- Sign in in the same browser. The extension only signs in with jetwriter.ai in the browser, and the browser profile, it's installed in. Signing in on your phone, in another browser or in another Chrome profile doesn't sign it in.
- Allow Google's sign-in window. If nothing happens when you click Continue with Google, your browser may have blocked the window Google opens. Allow pop-ups for jetwriter.ai and try again.
If you can't sign in on jetwriter.ai at all, for example because of a wrong or forgotten password, see Can't sign in, or forgot your password.
