Limits on Elite and Ultra, and "Advanced models paused"

Elite and Ultra plans, for yourself or on a team

Elite and Ultra include a monthly allowance for the advanced AI models: about 1,000 advanced AI responses a month on Elite and about 2,500 on Ultra. When it's used up, Jetwriter shows "Advanced models paused" and writes with the fast models (GPT 6 Luna, Gemini 3 Flash and Claude Haiku 5.5) until your allowance resets on your monthly reset date. The fast models have no monthly limit, under fair use, so you can keep writing.

How the advanced allowance works

  • Elite: about 1,000 advanced AI responses a month, with GPT 6 Sol, Gemini 3.1 Pro and Claude Sonnet 5.5.
  • Ultra: about 2,500 a month (about 2,000 on plans paid in rupees), with Claude Opus 5.5 as well.
  • The numbers are estimates. Long chats, file attachments, voice input, Gmail Auto-Drafts and the Balanced and Deep thinking levels use more of the allowance than a short reply.
  • It's monthly on yearly plans too. It resets on the same day each month as the day your subscription started.
  • On a team plan, each member has their own allowance.

Check how much you've used

  1. Go to jetwriter.ai/dashboard and sign in.
  2. Find Monthly Usage. The Advanced & Thinking models bar shows how much of your allowance you've used, as a percentage (1), and Resets gives the date it starts again (2).
The Monthly Usage section of the account page: Advanced & Thinking models, a bar about two-thirds full, '64% used' and 'Resets December 5, 2026'.

Monthly Usage shows how much of this month's advanced allowance you've used, and when it starts again.

  1. Share used
  2. Reset date

At 100% used, the advanced models are paused until the reset date.

What "Advanced models paused" means

On Elite, once the allowance is used up, a banner shows in the Jetwriter window after your next reply, with your own date:

Advanced models paused You've hit your monthly limit on advanced models. Only regular models are available until your quota resets on December 5, 2026. Upgrade to Ultra for 2x the usage and keep using advanced models.

The web app shows the same banner in a chat, ending with "keep using advanced + thinking models". Closing it hides it until your next reset.

Until the reset date:

  • The fast models keep working, with no monthly limit. The model picker calls them REGULAR AI.
  • The advanced models show a lock in the model picker, and Jetwriter switches you to Haiku 5.5. Pointing at a locked model shows "You've used most of your monthly quota. Only regular models are available until your quota resets on" and the date. Clicking one opens the plans.
  • Replies use the Fast thinking level, because Balanced and Deep are for advanced models.
  • Gmail Auto-Drafts pause, and start again when the allowance resets.

On Ultra there's no bigger plan, so the banner doesn't show: the locks in the model picker and Monthly Usage on jetwriter.ai/dashboard tell you the allowance is used up.

Get the advanced models back

  • Wait for the reset date. It's in the banner and under Monthly Usage. The advanced models and Auto-Drafts come back on their own.
  • On Elite, upgrade to Ultra. The advanced models come back right away, and Ultra's allowance is bigger. Click Upgrade now in the banner, or see Upgrade, downgrade or switch to yearly billing.

What fair use means

The fast models have no monthly limit, under fair use. Each Jetwriter account is for one person writing their own messages: sharing an account with other people, or using it through automated scripts, isn't allowed. For several people, a team plan gives each member their own account and allowance. The full policy is the Fair Usage Policy in the terms of use.

A monthly limit on attached files

Files you attach count toward a separate monthly limit on paid plans. If you see "You've reached your monthly file upload limit. Kindly wait until the start of the next cycle to upload more files.", you can attach files again from your reset date. Replies without new attachments keep working.
